Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of Insurance should your contractor have?

A General Contractor should have Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance. Worker’s Compensation Insurance protects the homeowner should an accident happen on their premises. Long Cove Builders is fully insured with Liability and Worker’s Comp.

What is the square foot pricing for building currently?

Square foot pricing is very subjective, the level of finish product and complexity of the project plays a huge role. Until you have identified all of your finish products and design criteria, square foot pricing is hard to do accurately. Long Cove Builders can assist with the design process and provide estimates so you will know exactly what your project will cost.

How long is the design process?

Typically for small additions/renovations the process is 1-3 months, for larger additions/renovations or new homes the process is between 2-4 months.

Should your contractor have a Safety Program?

Yes, your contractor should have a general safety policy and a safety plan for each project. Long Cove Builders has such a safety program and sends all of our employees to get certified with the OSHA 10 safety course.

Do you do small projects?

Yes, we do bathroom or kitchen renovations, we also do seasonal and cottage maintenance.

What is your warranty?

Long Cove Builders follows the State of Maine mandated 1 year warranty for all our work and facilitates all manufacturer’s warranties.
